1. Who we are

Build My Personal AI (personalai.thestrategicfriction.com) is operated by Strategic Friction. We are the "data controller" for the information described here — meaning we decide how and why it is used.

2. What we collect

• Your answers. The text you type or dictate in the six questions. This is used once — to generate your Personal AI Profile — and is then discarded. We do not store your answers on our servers.
• Purchase details. Your email address and payment are collected and processed by Paddle, our payment provider and Merchant of Record. We can look up whether an email has a completed purchase (so you can restore access), but we never see or store your card details.
• Your contact details. When you confirm your purchase or redeem an invite code, we keep your name, email address, access dates, and — only if you explicitly opt in — your preference for receiving occasional product emails. We use these to manage your access, help you if something goes wrong, and send you updates you've asked for.
• On your own device. Your browser keeps a small note that you've paid, so you don't have to pay again. This stays on your device; you can clear it any time in your browser settings.
• Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider may temporarily process your IP address and device/browser information to deliver the pages and keep the service secure.

3. How we use it

• To provide the service you bought (building your profile) — this is performing our contract with you
• To confirm purchases and prevent fraud — our legitimate interest
• To answer support questions you send us — our legitimate interest
• To send you occasional practical tips and product updates — only if you explicitly opt in (your consent). You can opt out any time by emailing us.

We do not use your answers for advertising, and we never sell your information.

4. Who sees your information

• OpenAI — your answers are sent to OpenAI's API solely to generate your profile, and are not retained by us afterwards.
• Paddle — our Merchant of Record, which handles the sale, payment, tax, and invoicing.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers — who deliver the website securely.
• Authorities — only where the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

Your answers exist only while your profile is being generated and are not stored by us. Your confirmed name, email address, and access details are kept while your access is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle support and accounting. Purchase records are kept by Paddle as required for accounting and tax purposes. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to help you.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. To use any of these rights, email Info@thestrategicfriction.com — we respond within one month.

7. International transfers

Our service providers (including OpenAI, Paddle, and our hosting provider) may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

8. Security and cookies

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls. This site uses no advertising or tracking cookies — only essential browser storage that keeps the service working (for example, remembering that you've paid).
